FOTINI
Born in Athens, FOTINI’s love of clothes began at a very early age sitting outside in the sunshine where she would draw paper dolls wearing elegant clothes from the far away fashion capitals that she dreamed of. FOTINI moved to Montreal with her Egyptian father and Greek mother and spent her childhood in Canada where she then married and had two daughters. FOTINI began her career in the world of finance following her father’s advice, but as years passed she realized there was always a creative gap in her life. She has since then fulfilled her lifelong dream in creating exquisite clothing.
FOTINI debuted her Spring 2012 collection during New York Fashion Week at the Gramercy Park Hotel. The label is built upon a philosophy of starting with a small wardrobe of perfectly fitting, sensuous and luxurious clothes that FOTINI loves most: “The ultra-feminine clothes I dreamt of wearing but could not find.” She is passionate about creating garments that have intricate finishes while reflecting her love of corsetry in an assortment of pieces. Using the finest Italian fabrics and French lace, FOTINI brings to the fashion forward consumer a body-skimming collection of dresses, suiting and evening clothes. “I am inspired by a mysterious woman who is fun and physical.
