BILL BLASS
Bill Blass welcomed Jeffrey Monteiro as Women’s Design Director in Fall of 2009, making his debut with the Resort 2011 Presentation. Although born in the Middle East, Monteiro was raised in Australia and attended boarding school in India. Continuing his education at university, Monteiro studied Fashion Design in Melbourne where he launched his eponymous fashion label. Monteiro then made his way to New York in 2000 to become Design Director at Mayle. In 2005 he became design director at Derek Lam designing Tod’s RTW. Jeffrey describes his design aesthetic as, "Simple, easy, functional and cool. They're pieces you don't have to think about too much – you just pick them up and it all works together.”
